Crossing and Transportation- American Contemporary Print Exhibition April 10-29, 2019
Featuring five American Artists and members of Printmaking’s Network of Southern New England:
Mary Teichman and Yuemei Zhang, both SAGA members, are travelling to Guangzhou, China on April 4, 2019, along with Carmela Venti, Jo Yarrington and Margot Rocklen for a printmaking exhibition entitled CROSSINGS AND TRANSPOSITIONS, to be held at the University City Art Museum of the Guangzhou Fine Arts Academy from April 10-30, 2019. Organized by the Printmakers’ Network of Southern New England (PNSNE), the five artists will each display approximately 25 of their prints, as well as three collective group portfolios of the PNSNE. While there, the five artists will lecture and demonstrate printmaking techniques. As a cultural exchange, five Chinese printmakers will exhibit at Fairfield University in Connecticut in 2020. Several other SAGA members are also members of the PNSNE, and will also be exhibiting their work at this exhibition in the group portfolios. These artists include: Eric Goldberg, Grace Bentley-Scheck and Carol Strause FitzSimonds.

Yuemei Zhang was born in Shanghai and studied printmaking and fine art for her undergraduate and graduate study at Central Fine Art Academy, Beijing China. She is the art director of Eastern Arts Connection, Inc. and taught printmaking and fine art at colleges and universities for over twenty years. Currently she lives in Avon CT. Her artworks have been collected by the National Art Museum and CAFA Art museum in Beijing, China, as well as by private collectors and galleries in the US, Canada, Hong Kong and Germany. Zhang’s unique artworks reflect her passion for Eastern Art. She is the recipient of many awards in both the US and China.
